Rest Stop Marshal – Job Description

Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th



What do I do as a Rest Stop Marshal? As a Rest Stop Marshal you will be positioned at one of the five Rest Stop on the Discovery Rides routes. These Rest Stops provide riders with the opportunity to have a break and some water before continuing on their rides. Marshals at the Rest Stops are required for site set up, site marshaling by managing traffic flow of people & riders or general event enquires. Your Team Leader will assist you with the various tasks that need to take place.


Specific Tasks

  • Site safety at all times
  • Setting up equipment and signage
  • Information giving to cyclists and the public
  • Keep the Rest Stop shining through implementing the recycling and rubbish plan
  • Coordinate lost property items

Do I need any special skills? The ability to take direction from your Team and manage a large crowd and an early morning riser. A friendly and helpful personality also won’t go astray.
